About Jane Sullivan
Today Jane Sullivan is Vice President of Marketing and Strategic Communications at the San Francisco Foundation. Jane is attending PRConf14 as a keynote speaker presenting on the 2013 America’s Cup.
She served as the America's Cup Communications Director for the San Francisco Mayor's Office and Economic and Workforce Development through to the end of the Cup period. She joined the project in August, 2011, after serving for 13 years as the Marketing and Communications Manager at the San Francisco International Airport (SFO), and is responsible for all media, public and community communications as well as marketing and fundraising support.
While at the San Francisco International Airport Sullivan built two generations of the website, introduced SFO on Twitter, and built a marketing and communications department that attracted numerous international airlines (including the return of Air New Zealand!) and cutting-edge shops and restaurants. Sullivan also developed and launched the SFO logo and brand as part of the opening of SFO's international terminal and $3 billion (US) expansion project completed in 2001.
Previous to SFO, Sullivan worked in the marketing and communications field at a variety of media and non-profit organizations as well as for local and federal politicians. She's had several jobs in the private sector including as the marketing director for an environmental consulting firm.
Sullivan has a degree in English Literature from the University of California, Berkeley. She lives in San Francisco with her husband, daughter and two dogs.
