Senior Account Director, Wright Communications
Currently Senior Account Director at Auckland’s Wright Communications, Simon has more than 12 years experience in public relations and communications management. He has led strategic communications in some of Auckland's most significant projects and issues over the past decade, including Rugby World Cup 2011.
As Auckland's RWC 2011 Communications manager, Simon led the team and multi-organisational working group which drove public relations around the city's entire RWC 2011 portfolio, incorporating transport, fan zones (including Queens Wharf), team welcomes, adopt-a-second-team, schools programmes, business programmes and more. Auckland's communications was acknowledged by tournament organisers as a leading programme nationally and delivered outstanding results.
During his time at ATEED and Wright Communications, Simon has worked on other major events including World Masters Games 2017, the Dick Smith NRL Auckland Nines and the 2014 ITM 500 (V8 Supercars).
